John Mitchell
Executive Director

John has served as Executive Director since December 2006. Prior to that he served as Director of Operations for CABVI from 1999 to 2006. John worked for the Clovernook Center for the Blind from 1985 to 1999 in several capacities including Multistate Center Director, Director of Manufacturing and Vice President of Industrial Operations. John has a MPA from the University of Cincinnati (1983) and completed the University of Cincinnati Executive Training Program from UC's College of Business Administration in 1993. John is currently a member of the Board of the National Industries for the Blind (NIB), the board president of National Association for the Employment of People Who Are Blind (NAEPB), and serves on the boards of ITN Greater Cincinnati and the Alliance of Ohio of Work Centers. John is a native to Cincinnati; he and his wife Kathy have four adult children and reside in Pleasant Ridge.

  

Ginny Backscheider
Director of Program Services

Ginny Backscheider  Ginny has worked at CABVI since 1979, and is responsible for the department that provides most of the community based specialized services provided by CABVI. Ginny has also worked for several other human services agencies in Cincinnati such as United Cerebral Palsy, RHC, and United Way. She received her Bachelors Degree from the University of Cincinnati, and graduated magna cum laude. She has served on the board of the Ohio Chapter of the Association for Education and Rehabilitation of the Blind and Visually Impaired (AERO), and on the international board of AER International, where she served as Treasurer. Ginny was the 2005 recipient of the J. Kenneth Cozier Memorial Award for distinguished service from AERO. Ginny is a native of Cincinnati, and she and her husband Kip have two children, and reside in Batavia, Ohio.

  

JENNIFER DUBOIS
DIRECTOR OF FINANCE & Administration

 Jen rejoined CABVI in the role of Director of Finance and Accounting in May 2010 after completing her Masters in Business Administration at the University of Cincinnati. She had previously served CABVI for six years in the role of Director of Administration. The Finance and Accounting department is responsible for the tracking, evaluation and analysis of agency financial resources and investments. Jen has over ten years of management experience, including six years in the not-for-profit sector. Jen earned her undergraduate degree in Political Science from Miami University. She and her husband, John, reside in downtown Cincinnati and they have four grown children.  

  

Kathy Gottschlich
Director of Development and Community Relations

Kathy oversees fund development, marketing, volunteer services, public relations and community relations for CABVI. Kathy graduated from Ohio State University with a Bachelors degree and she has twenty-four years of experience in not-for-profit development, event planning, and public relations. She has served as a volunteer and board member for numerous not-for-profit organizations, and she has worked for Cincinnati Ballet, The Jeff Ruby AHEAD Foundation, and Cincinnati Restoration, Inc.  Kathy and her husband, Bill, reside in Paddock Hills and have a grown daughter, Kara Prezocki.

  

MICHAEL MUSE
DIRECTOR OF OPERATIONS

Mike joined CABVI in February 2013 and currently oversees the Industries Program. He comes with 20 years of Plant and Operations experience from Contech ES, Advanced Drainage Systems, Rollins 3PL and Amantea Nonwovens. He completed his undergraduate degree in 1993 with a BS from the University of Cincinnati in Operations Management and Management along with completing a MBA in 1999 from The University of Phoenix. Mike has a background in Lean manufacturing where he has earned his Lean 6 Sigma Green Belt Certification. He, his wife, Carrie and daughter Lauren live in Loveland.

bill neyer
Director of business development

  Bill is responsible for growing the agency's Contact Center customer service program; identifying, evaluating and overseeing new product and service opportunities to expand employment for people who are blind and visually impaired; directing the agency's base supply center, OFFICE RUNWAY, at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base; and acting as a key liaison to the National Industries for the Blind. He received his bachelor's degree in science and mechanical engineering from Ohio University and a master's degree in arts and theology from Xavier University. Bill comes to CABVI with an extensive background in business development, technical sales and entrepreneurial initiatives. He and his family reside in West Chester, Ohio.
