Typical volunteer opportunities for students between the ages of 12-18 include: assisting in our offices with administrative tasks, special mailings and data entry; reading to a client who is blind or visually impaired and living in a senior facility; and assisting at annual events like the SpringLight 5K and the Raft Trip. Student volunteers will generally contribute one hour per week for a minimum of six months.

One of the most fulfilling youth volunteer opportunities we provide is serving as a reader to one of our blind or visually impaired clients. CABVI matches students with clients living in Senior Facilities. Volunteers visit for one hour per week and read everything from mail to novels.

If you are between the ages of 12 and 18 and would like to be a volunteer reader, office worker or event assistant, please contact the manager of volunteer services at the Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired at 513-487-4217.

Mom and Dad! We have volunteer opportunities for you, too! Please see the adult volunteer section of our website with more information!
