ONE-ON-ONE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Do you like to read, or drive? For
people who are blind or visually impaired some challenges are accessing printed
material and finding transportation to appointments. Listed below are several requests for readers, drivers and other
assistance. In some cases,
reimbursement for gas may be available to drivers. If you are interested in any of these
opportunities, or have questions about the One-on-One Volunteer program, please
contact One-on-One Volunteer Coordinator, Jennifer Holladay at 513-487-4237.

REQUESTS FOR
TRANSPORTATION
- Colerain Township -- Ilissa would like transportation to go to Wal-Mart
and the grocery store twice a month.
- Eastgate / Mount Carmel -- Gayle would like a volunteer to provide
transportation to the library and bank once a week.
- Harrison -- Wanda is seeking transportation to the grocery store and bank
twice a month and to occasional medical appointments.
- Harrison -- Barbara would like transportation to the grocery store once a
month.
- Kennedy Heights -- Willie is 82 and would like a friendly visitor to
take her to the beauty shop once a month. She wants to occasionally shop at
Kenwood Towne Center or just go for a ride. She would also enjoy attending her
church or a bible study. The best days for her are Tuesdays or Thursdays.
- Kennedy Heights -- Larry would like a volunteer to provide
transportation to the bank and grocery store on the first and third Wednesday of
the month in the morning.
- Milford -- Julie is seeking transportation to and from a meeting held
on the second Tuesday of each month at the YWCA downtown. The meeting begins at
6:00 and ends at 7:30.
- Mount Airy -- Darlene is seeking transportation to occasional medical
appointments.
- Mount Healthy -- Donna would like a friendly visitor
to go to restaurants and shopping with her.
- North Avondale -- Diane would like a volunteer to provide
transportation to the grocery store and laundromat twice a month.
- North College Hill -- Judy is seeking transportation to occasional
doctor appointments and miscellaneous errands.
- Sharonville -- William would like a volunteer to provide transportation
to the grocery store three times a month.
- Wilder, KY -- Minnie is seeking transportation once a month to Meijer
to pick up prescriptions and occasional doctor's appointments.
- Wyoming -- Queenie is looking for a female to provide transportation to
the grocery store once a month.

AND FRIENDLY VISITORS
- Covington, KY -- Gerry is looking
for a personal reader twice a month to assist with mail and writing checks to
pay bills.
- Delhi -- Robert would like a personal reader to assist him once a week.
- Forest Park -- Mildred is 82 years old and would like someone to visit
with her once a week for friendly conversation.
- Greenhills -- Marianne would like a personal reader to assist with mail
and paper work.
- Hamilton -- Fred is looking for a personal reader once a week. He is
researching documentation related to starting a business. Some of the sessions
might be at the library, and computer knowledge would be helpful.
- Hamilton -- Mildred would like a friendly visitor to read mail once a
week, she prefers mornings.
- Hyde Park -- Helen is looking for someone to read mail and print materials
once a week on Friday.
- Mt. Healthy -- Ester would like a personal reader to assist with mail.
- New Richmond -- Bill would like a volunteer to read mail and help him
to identify and label keys by the number.
- North College Hill -- Judy would like a personal reader to assist with
mail.
- Price Hill -- Virginia would like a visitor for friendly conversation.
- Walnut Hills -- Robert is 88 and seeking a friendly visitor who can
work with him learning his computer. Best days are Tuesday
and Thursday.
