OTHER ADULT VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES
Volunteers assist and supplement the work of CAB
staff in a variety of ways. Responsibilities can include:
- Reading newspapers or other printed materials
on-the-air at our radio station.
- Reading newspapers, magazine articles or other
materials over the telephone for our dial-in service.
- Tape recording manuals, textbooks and other
materials at home or in our studios.
- Reading work-related materials for staff who
are visually impaired.
- Providing transportation or sighted guide
assistance for staff who are blind to provide services to clients in homes
or on the job.
- Transporting materials or equipment.
- Providing office support for mailings,
photocopying, filing, cassette tape duplication, phone calls, data entry,
etc.
- Staffing displays or information booths.
- Giving talks in the community about blindness.
- Participating in projects such as bulk
mailings or special outings.
All of these volunteer activities are valuable
contributions to our organization and help us to achieve our mission.
