BROADCAST SERVICEWith a special radio receiver, listeners hear daily broadcasts of local newspapers and magazines. CAB broadcasts on-the-air on our radio station 24 hours a day including more than 7 hours of daily news from local newspapers and periodicals. Popular programs are the front page news, grocery store ads, obituaries, and editorials. Other programs include national newspapers such as the New York Times and Wall Street Journal, interviews with authors, and regular feature shows such as sports, travel talk, health news and recipes. The broadcast is carried on a side band of a Cincinnati public radio station and can be heard within a 50-mile radius of downtown Cincinnati. Broadcasts are also carried on cable TV and on closed circuit TV systems in hospitals and senior facilities. PERSONALIZED TALKING PRINTPersonalized Talking Print (PTP) allows listeners to call from any touch-tone phone, any time of the day or night, and listen to a variety of news stories and magazines articles. A brief instruction session prepares listeners to use PTP easily from their homes. Listeners can also make specific, personal requests for reading of printed materials, such as listings in dictionaries, yellow pages, stock quotes, or menus from local restaurants. Volunteers will read the information into the PTP system so listeners can retrieve the information at their convenience. For information about PTP or to request a radio receiver, call 513-487-4245.
