CABVI Elects New Board Chair

April 23, 2018- Cincinnati, OH The Board of Trustees of Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired (CABVI) elected Dennis Dern, 8 year trustee, as the new Board Chair at the 107th Annual Meeting of the Association on April 20th. Dennis joined CABVI’s Board of Trustees in 2008 and has served as a Vice Chairman and as a member of the Audit/Finance, Compensation and Governance Committees of the Board. He also served as Board Treasurer from 2011 to 2016.


Dennis has been a controller with General Electric Company since 2000, and is currently a technical controller for GE Aviation’s Commercial Engine Operations in Evendale, Ohio.


From 1991 to 2000, Dennis worked for Chiquita Brands International, Inc., and prior to that, he was a member of Price Waterhouse’s audit and continuing education departments in their Cincinnati, Dayton and New York-National offices.


In addition to his volunteer work with Cincinnati Association for the Blind and Visually Impaired, Dennis also serves on the Board of Directors and various committees of the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra and the Finance and Investment Committee of ArtsWave.


Dennis attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.  He and his wife Cathy reside in South Lebanon, Ohio.
