CABVI’s 3rd Annual Dining in the Dark

Cincinnati, OH – November 12, 2019 – Cincinnati Association for the Blind & Visually Impaired (CABVI) held their third annual Dining in the Dark event on Saturday, November 9 at Jack Casino Event Center. More than 300 guests were guided through dinner’s main course while wearing a blindfold. “We’re very proud to host this unique event for the Greater Cincinnati Community. Proceeds from this year’s Dining in the Dark will help CABVI to strengthen our Early Childhood and Youth Services as well as Vision Rehabilitation Therapy Services through the renovation of our third floor on Gilbert Avenue,” said John Mitchell, CABVI’s President/CEO.

This year, the event theme was “Back to the Roaring Twenties.” Guests enjoyed a live auction, a silent auction, and much more. Q102 DJ’s Jon (Jon Jon) Curl and Natalie Jones served as the emcees.

The agency honored this year’s Barney H. Kroger Humanitarian Award recipients, Maridot and her late husband Thomas Long. They were recognized for their leadership, dedication, and generosity to CABVI and the people they serve.

Next year’s Dining in the Dark event will be held on Nov. 14, 2020 at Hard Rock Casino Event Center from 6-10pm. For more information about table hosting and sponsorship opportunities, please contact Aaron Bley, Vice President of Community Relations and Chief Development Officer at 513-487-4233.
